Office of Management and Budget

The Office of Management and Budget is the largest component of the Executive Office of the President and assists the President in overseeing the preparation and administration of the federal budget. It evaluates agency programs, policies, and procedures, coordinates the administration's regulatory review through the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, and supervises federal financial management and procurement policy. It was created by Reorganization Plan No. 2 of 1970, building on the Bureau of the Budget established in 1921, and is led by a Director confirmed by the Senate.
